Remembering you are powerful

It’s astounding how often we forget what powerful creators we are. We live in a world with cause and effect; when we do something, another thing happens as a result.

I regularly speak to senior leaders in prestigious roles, who haven’t made an active career move in years. Usually, because they’ve had a timely tap on the shoulder for the next role when another leader has deemed it appropriate. This can mean getting stuck in a constant pattern of pushing, striving, delivering, yet never pausing to notice if they’re feeling fulfilled.

I’ve spoken before about how, for some people, the first step is to be ‘at cause’. To notice that things aren’t happening ‘to’ us but as a result of choices we make. Even if the precise situation isn’t within our control, how we respond to it is.

But that’s a basic first step - and most people who work with me are already taking responsibility for their own thinking and behaviour. So the more advanced, subtle ,step is to acknowledge when you are aware that you are creating your reality, but forgetting what a HUGE opportunity that is.

You already know that how you think, act, and behave is shaping your life - but you might not have hit the pause button recently to put intention behind those behaviours. So I’m prompting you to ask yourself now - is your current situation what you meant to create?

The action this week is to stop for a moment and remember that you can do, be, have what you want. You’re a powerful creator - what are you creating next?

P.S. In July 2021 I have one 1-1 coaching spot available. If it's time for you to start working on what you're creating next, lets talk.
